Stage Door
Jan 17th 2009

Hadn't asked at the theatre where the stage door was, but I took a guess, based on the surrounding area, and luckily, it was clearly labeled "Stage Door."
It also was not that cold, so that was good. While we were there, it started to snow just a little.

After we had been there for a little while, a man came out and stood there smoking. He told us that a lot of the actors go out the front door, rather than the stage door.
By this point, we had already caught a few actors so I didn't mind. I had caught almost everyone that I really really wanted to catch.
It was a little difficult to recognize people, because everyone was all bundled up in hats and coats.

The first people that came out where David Tankersley, who was the Specialty Skater.
Basically, he came out during the finale and did spiffy roller skating tricks. I think he also balanced out the skaters.
Tiffany Topol came out with him. First he signed my program, and then she did, a little hesitantly.
She was a swing, and she wasn't on in the show that I saw, but I told her that I'd like her autograph too.
They ran off before I could ask them for a picture. He was funny as he was looking for his name - he couldn't find his name at first.

Another guy came out, and I thought he was Jason Michael Snow.
I watched while he signed, and I was right, so that was exciting, because he played my favorite character - Thalia, the muse of comedy.
He laughed when I said that. He signed, and then I did get a picture with him.

The next person to exit the theatre was Elizabeth Stanley, who played Clio-Kira. I recognized her.
She was very nice, and she asked about how we liked the show (Loved it), and where did we sit? (Third row on the side), and if we could see well from the side (We could). Apparently they had been wondering about sight lines from the side rows.

So she left, and then about five minutes later, a woman and a little girl came walking up, and asked how Stage Dooring was going. I said that there hadn't been too many people, but I had met a few.
She said they wanted to meet Kira, and that was kind of sad. They had just missed her.

I had a few false alarms with various people who said they weren't in the cast.
So then the next guy, who was quite bundled up, I asked if he was in the show.
He laughed and said, "Uh, yeah... actually, I was Sonny." Whoops. So that was Max Von Essen, the male lead.
He said that it was hard to meet people at the Stage Door in Chicago in winter, because everyone is all bundled up.
So he signed and took a picture with me as well. Then someone called him back inside.

We waited for a little longer, but it was getting colder and snowing harder, so we decided to go.
